Birkrigg common; Furness, Cumbria

Once upon a Carboniferous Period time
the compressedshellsbones of billions of wee sea creatures
made the sea bed, then
got lifted high in the sky by gargantuan planetry force
a millimetre a year
for millions of years

I sit for a minute upon on this cold gray graveyard
contemplating eternity,
digesting a Milky Way.
